In the performance clean coal, Ekici and Marcus are taking a look at the history of mining in the Saarland in Germany .The performance relates to the industrial landscape on the Lydia slagheap and the mysterious Schlossberg caves in Homburg. it reflects the extraordinary character of a landscape characterized by mountain industry and illustrates its effects on human lives. The two performers are using two tabs in order to first unite with the rest over coal and than energetically try to remove it, cleaning themselves and purifying each other.
