The video „Sea of Life “is devoted to Islam, addressing the Quran. In the video work, Marcus and Ekici cross the Bosporus as a connection between east and west, departing from the European side eastwards, whilst carrying large aquariums filled with holy books. Upon arrival at the Asian side, they lay the aquariums on pedestals and carry buckets of sea water to fill those aquariums. The trickling water washes out the ink, freeing the holy thoughts to let them become one with the sea as origin of life.
